USING GOP FOR THE CAPABLE TO PROMISE 

HERE ARE SOME KEY SETUPS TO BE CONSIDERED : 

Steps1: Items > Planning tab

    Make/ Buy flag : Make 

   Update Processing lead time / Post processing lead time 

Critical component : Yes for items which need to be considered as critical in BOR

Step2: item Structure 

 at component level - enable components as 

Step3: Resource definition  ( any one of the option is selected)

Enable as Bottle neck -- which are identified as critical    

or 

Capable to promise - yes 

Step4: Create the ATP rule

Promising mode : Supply chain availability check 

Enable :Search components and resources 

Step5: 

Sourcing rule as Make for assembly item / sub components  

For items transfered from other org then In transit time is mandate 

Step6: 

complete the work definitions 

with the complete Operations in which we used the resources which are Bottle neck enabled and assigned components marked as Critical

Note: 
01. only primary work definition is considered for Bill of resources 

02. if item sourcing is transfer then only with Rank 1 will be considered 

03. Component substitution / alternative Resource is not considered 

04.  if any change in Work definition, resources , items item structure etc then we need to regenerate BOR

05. item which are part of the input simulation will be considered as critical.

06. Calendars will be considered which are assigned to the INV org.

07. Include only critical and resources to have better performance
